For their 8th year, the Champagne Academy of Irish Dance will be performing and hosting the Ireland booth at Summer of the Arts on June 3rd in downtown Iowa City. The school opened then very first Ireland booth in 2010 in the infancy of SOTA’s “Global Village”. Children receive a passport, then “travel” to different countries, all hosted by local community groups, where they learn about each represented country and make a craft or participate in an activity.
The Ireland booth will feature crafts, learn about Irish music and language, Irish dance demonstrations, and free mini-lessons. The Champagne Academy is very involved with this community event, and in addition to hosting the Ireland booth, they will do a formal performance on the family stage.
More information regarding this event will be posted under our “Events” tab on the @ChampagneIrishDance Facebook Page. We hope to see you there! ☘️
